I have been on a dying kick lately.
If its not bolted to the walls its gone into a dye bath.
Maybe not that bad, bit kinda.
The result can be seen in the fall issue of Sweet Paul Magazine.
But I give you a little sneak peak for a great summer craft.
This is a cotton T from H&M.
You need to soak it and rinse out the water.
Make the dye bath according to the bottle.
I find liquid dye much easier to work with.
Dip it in the dye a few times and rinse.
Remember to rince downwords, so that the whole T does not become blue.
Dry.
If you think the color is to light, simple repeat the whole process.

Loving the look too. I'm using Plastidip in various colors and dipping baskets, flatware, wooden spoon handles...anything that isn't tied down.

I have done this before but I always had the problem that once I put the shirt into the washing machine, it came out all blue, eventhough I had rinsed it out completely before! do you have a tip on how to avoid that?

I've been dying to do this. So glad that tie dye is back with such a sophisticated ombre twist! Thanks for demonstrating!

After you tie-dye it: Try soaking it in the bath tub with just enough water to cover it. With a cup of salt mixed in the water. Soak with shirt flat in this mixture. Can't remember how long to do this for sure. But I want to say 4 hours? This 'set' the color.

Do you remember where you got that particular shirt? I love the zebra design, but don't know where to find it in all white.

That shirt is cute! I like how it's not just one shade of blue! I have seen some t shirt printing companies do similar shirts but with images. Shocker, I know. There's this website that had a lot of different possibilities www.azcustomt.com.

i heard if you put a cup of salt in the water the dye won't run. don't know if its true, but its worth a try.

This is SO effective! It totally transforms a plain white t-shirt. Can't wait to give it a go :)
