I have been collecting old tart pans for a while now, and the other day I thought that I need to use them for something.
I came up with this idea of turning them into cake stands.
Its really easy, you just super glue old thread spools to the stands and place them on top of each other.
The result is really cute.

I love this - i'm been eying up making a cake stand out of old plates so I might adapt the normal way of stacking them with drilling to using the glue!

I've not seen before the type of spools you show. Where are they typically found or used originally?

What a great idea! I love how you used vintage objects to get the look. It would also make a great crafts organizer. I can see paint bottles and ribbon spools adorning it now. How fun!

Just want I was looking for. My daughter found some mini vintage pans at a yard sale yesterday. Thread spools will work perfectly.

The additional that the typical men and women see it, the additional that it's going to appear because the mainstream, the additional that it's going to appear familiar and appear much less "designer".
