Great news for all Sweet Paul Magazine fans living in Norway.
Norway's largest woman's magazine KK will publish Sweet Paul Magazine as its own supplement that will be sold with the magazine.
First issue out first week of june.

Recipe Monday

Carbonara is one of those sauces that are so easy to make and tastes so good... if its made the right way.
I remember the first time I was in Italy and ordered carbonara.
This pile of spaghetti came on a plate with something that looked like a white gravy.
And it more or less was... Horrible.
I never order carbonara when Im out, always just makes it myself.
Just cant face another pile of pasta with white gravy......

Spaghetti Carbonara
Serves 4

6 ounces bacon, sliced
1 garlic clove, thinly sliced
1 pound spaghetti
1 small carrot, thinly sliced
Salt, to taste
1 cup cream
4 egg yolks
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup peas, fresh or frozen, blanched

In a small pan, fry bacon and garlic until bacon is golden; set aside.
Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted water until al dente, according to package instructions; for the last minute, add the carrots.
Drain and return to pot.
Add cream and egg yolk; heat gently.
Add bacon, Parmesan and peas.
Serve at once.

Easter week, friday

All good things must come to an end.
This is the last easter post for this year, a whole year until the next one.
I leave you with a wreath I made of wool pom pom's. Really happy about it.
I also want to say thank you to all the birthday wishes I got here.
Happy easter to you all.....

What you’ll need:
Pom-pom maker*
Four different colored wool yarns
Glue gun
Wire wreath

Create about 30 pom-poms in different sizes.
Hot glue the pom-poms to a wire wreath.

*Createforless.com has some great ones at a good price. Having one will make your life so much easier if you are a crafter.

Easter week, thursday

Today is a flower kind of day.
Why?
Because its my birthday....

Wool flowers
What you’ll need:
Two kinds of wool yarn
String
White sticks
White construction paper

Wrap wool around 3 fingers 12 times.
Then wrap the other wool 6 times around 2 fingers.
Place the two wool wraps together and tie with a string.
Cut all the ends and hot glue on a white stick.
Hot glue paper leaf cut-outs where stems would be.

Easter week, wednesday

I love taking parts of nature inside.
This is a bunch of cherry blossom branches I cut from a tree and placed in water.
While waiting for it to bloom I hot glued simple leafs that I cut out of craft paper to the branches.
That way they look interesting even before they bloom.

Easter week, tuesday

I used to be a florist many years ago, like many years ago.
Since then I have developed a very simple taste in flowers.
Not into big bunches of mixed flowers, I'm more a one kind of flower guy.
I just think the statement the flower does is so much stronger when it's one kind.
Anyhow, its time to get those easter flowers.
Always make a fresh cut on the stems and place them in a clean vase filled with water.
Change the water everyday.
That way they will live longer.

Easter Week!

Its easter week here at Sweet Paul, that means a new fun craft idea or a tasty recipe everyday.
Lets start off with a fun wool easter chick.
Its really easy to make, all you need to get is some wool and a pom pom maker.
They will have them at your local knitting store.
You make pom pom's in a few minutes.
Really fun.

What you’ll need:
Two pom-pom's (one smaller than the other)
Florist wire
Glue gun
Victorian buttons
One piece orange or pink construction paper

Hot glue two pom-pom's together.
Make legs using florist wire; hot glue them in place.
I used Victorian buttons for the eyes and paper, hot glued in place, for the beak.

Crafty Friday

Easter is just around the corner and its time to decorate the easter eggs.
I have always loved to play with the expected colors for holidays, so this eater is all gray and white.
These eggs are really easy to make and looks really good in a bowl on your table.

What you’ll need:
Hard boiled eggs, cooled
Wool yarn
Glue gun

Braid wool yarn and hot glue it on the eggs.

Recipe Monday

I used to love fish sticks as a kid, I still do but have to admit that I haven't had one in like 10 years.
My grandmother used to make them and serve them with cooked potatoes, shredded carrots and melted butter.
Om my, it was so good.
I totally need to get my sweet ass down to the fish monger today and get some cod......
Enjoy!

Fish Sticks
Serves 4

2 cups panko crumbs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 pound white firm fish fillet, such as sole, cod, etc.

In a large bowl, mix panko, salt and pepper.
Cut the fish into 1-by-3-inch pieces; dip in butter, followed by panko.
Place on baking tray covered with parchment paper.
Bake for about 15 minutes, or until golden.
Serve with lemon and steamed bok choy.

Crafty Friday

A little something fun to make this weekend.

Teddy bears

What you’ll need:
One medium-size pom-pom
One large pom-pom
Four small pom-poms
Two tiny pom-poms
Glue gun
Braided wool

Start with hot gluing the medium pom-pom (for the head) to the large pom-pom (for the body). Glue on four smaller ones—two for the arms and two for the legs. To finish, glue on the last tiny pom-poms for the ears.
Hot glue button eyes and nose in place.
Wrap the neck with a piece of braided wool for the scarf.
