Paul, Paul, Paul! How I wish I was there to enjoy some with you! I could pass on the 90ºF, but might be worth it with this GREAT tip! Ingenious!

Cliff

90F is NOT hot. Then again, I'm from Arizona. Enjoy your watermelon!

OK, that's a well know procedure in my homeland - Bulgaria. So I would like to give you an advice. Don't waste your time doing it that way. Just buy a big syringe and a needle. The watermelon soak it up quite faster. I hope you will find that trick useful :)
p.s. We are not doing that with vodka but anise alcoholic drink called "mastika".

Gabriela

I'm enduring the heat up here in Harlem! I don't remember the last time it was 90.... That watermelon is now on my memorial day weekend menu- a more subtle way to have a bit of cocktails at a picnic :)

Rambles with Reese

WOW! What a cool idea! I never would have thought!

Monica (Anchor & Sail)

I'm so jealous! It's raining here in good ol' Seattle. Still. Surprise. I think I'll make a boozy watermelon anyway, just for fun. Thanks, Paul!

Jeff

Its better with rum.

Jo Roman

Now this is a great idea for Memorial Day, say if you were going to a public beach or park :-)

KAMiKZ

this guy probably saw an old episode of Naked Chef and now reinvents the wheel

Mme de Thil

Etonnant! I'll try.

sweets in bulk

haha What a great idea. I'll try doing this myself.

Mona

vell, her er det 5 grader... og det er kaldt, hater å fryse! Sola tiiter frem her no og da kryper vel temperaturen opp mot 10 grader kanskje ;0)
Og etter masse kaldt vær, regn og skyer er jeg glad sola iallefall titter frem. 33 grader høres hærlig ut!

Kyle Weber

This is cool! Great idea! Watermelon is the best!

Kobe Bryant

90 degrees in NY feels waaay hotter than 90 degrees in AZ because of the humidity.

wishful nals

yum!!! makes me want to do the same thing :)

Anon

Pft...90...weakling.

ME

33c? I call that winter. 46 average for summer here.

Sounds awesome, must try!

summerbum

What happens if you shake it once its been booze-ted? does it mush up the flesh or share the alcohol around a bit more evenly? sounds perfect for festivals

dick nubler

Doin this kind of shit freshman year.

Sabrina

Also works well to inject vodka into oranges. :)

Thejumparound

I will definitely be doing this next weekend...I'll be in Miami this weekend which is already a melon of alcohol to itself ha

Joe

by the NYC and NJ area, the humidity adds on about 15- 20 degrees onto the temperature.

cami

I can't wait to try this! Was actually never sure how to do it :) Thanks for the pic!

Grace

Would it work with a non-alcoholic beverage like lemonade?

Piprod01

I thought it was something completely different when I saw the picture. :o
I've got a dirty mind. :(

But it does sound awesome! ;D
