You all know by now that I love using old books for everything.
This time I turned one into a shelf.
Very easy, all you need are two brackets.
I got mine from Anthropologie.
Measure how far they need to be apart by putting the book on top and simply fasten them to the wall.
Place the book on top and you have a very cool and stylish shelf.

I have been so swamped with work.

The cover for my very first issue.
Should be able to give you the launch date later this week.
Before I moved to New York I had never heard of a Popover.
The first time I had them was in a cafe on the upper west side called.....popover.
They served them fresh out of the oven with strawberry butter.
I have made them many times since, its the perfect breakfast or brunch treat.
Super easy to make and so good.
Popovers with Strawberry Butter
It’s so much fun peek in the oven and watch these rise. (Remember to serve them hot!)
Makes 6
Butter, for greasing 6-cup popover tin (You can also use a muffin tin.)
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
3 large eggs
Preheat oven to 425ºF.
Grease popover tin.
In a medium bowl, stir together flour, milk and salt.
Add eggs, one at a time to combine. (The batter can be a little lumpy.)
Pour _ cup of batter into greased popover tin.
Bake for 20 minutes.
Reduce heat to 350ºF and continue baking for another 20 minutes.
Remove from pan and serve.
Strawberry Butter
This butter tastes amazing with anything freshly baked.
Makes about 2 cups
1 cup salted butter
1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
1/2 cup chopped strawberries
Using an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar until creamy.
Add strawberries and beat until mixed.
Refrigerate until serving.

I bought this kinda cheesy little glass dish at housing works for $1.
I painted the outside once with primer and them two layers of a grey paint.
And now it looks like a very modern cool pepper dish.

Some cocktails I made for the latest issue of Food Network Magazine.

I often get asked what's my favorite ingredients.
One of them are lemons, just love the way that taste and make other food stands out.
This salsa is amazing with grilled chicken or even some grilled white fish.
The salty capers and olives together with the sour lemon is such a great mix.
Try it and you will be hooked.
Citrus Salsa
Serves 4
2 lemons, cut in slices, without rind
20 green olives
2 tablespoons capers
1/2 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons olive oil
Grated lemon zest, from 1/2 lemon
1/4 teaspoon salt
Place lemon slices, olives and capers in a bowl.
Add sugar and let the mixture stand 15 minutes.
Add olive oil, lemon zest and salt

I had some guests coming over a while ago and I wanted to do something new with one off my walls.
I didn't have much time or money.
So what I did was that I ripped out a bunch of pages from an old tattered book and painted the pages with some leftover paint( believe me, a stylist always have leftover paint).
I just taped them to the wall along with some fab tears from Vogue.

Leave you with a sneak peak of some of the stories in the magazine.
I did this project for Redbook a few weeks ago.
I hot glued jelly beans to letters that I cut out of styrofoam.
Love doing things like this.
