Valentines day is just around the corner.
What is better to make a big heart to your loved one?
I know this craft looks complicated, but its quite easy.
You need some fresh twigs.
The reason they have to be fresh is so you can bend them. Old ones will just break.
You also need some thin copper wire, and thats it.
Start by making a large X of the twigs. Secure in the middle with copper wire.
This will be the size of your heart.
Use long twigs that you bend into a heart shape and fasten it to the X with the copper wire.
Use little twigs to fill in the heart here and there to make it more full.
When its done you can hang it on your door, wall or place it on your beloveds bed.
Have a fab weekend all.

So beautiful. Where can I find twigs that purple? I'm in Los Angeles, would they be available in a nursery? Thanks for the awesome project!

Hi Paul!
Just to let you know, I discovered your blog through Craft Magazine - I'm a graphic designer, but a huge lover of all things crafty, and your blog is like crack to me now!
Seriously, I'm in love with it. The awesome sweater makes for those of us who can't be bothered with real knitting but want awesome decor, and the food... mm... I don't care if it's freezin' I'm making ice cream today, and egg salad sandwiches! (Weird mix)
I saw you needed some designer to help you with layouts and whatnot; since I'm no where in your area I suppose I can't help, but if you ever need any freelance work done, I don't mind working for virtual cupcakes :D (I'm just getting my business running, so the more work the merrier! Better to be free and something you love then to be paid for something you hate)

These lovely twigs look to me like they might be young red twig dogwood branches. Beautiful heart project, just in time for Valentine's Day. I've added this project to Valentine Gifts and Crafts to Make.

Very cool and i suppose romantic also. Did you paint those twigs or are they natural? I would rather something like this made by my husband for Valentines day rather than anything else purchased. Great job.
