I made this wood tree for a magazine a while ago.
It looks complicated, but its quite easy.
You need:
Thin wooden rails, I got mine at HomeDepo
Small saw
Hot glue gun
White paint
Small brush
Glitter star
Start with the base.
Make a stand out of one long and two shorter rails that is half the length of the long one.
Hot glue them together in a X shape.
Now make 20 rails one a little smaller then the other.
Hot glue them on top of each other with a hot glue gun.
Once its dry, use a small brush and paint the tree white.
Hot glue a glitter star to the top.

Those pretzels look amazing! Jag önskar jag bodde kvar i USA och inte bara behövde nöja mig med de smala salta pinnar vi har här i Sverige...

Hello sweet Paul,

this is so lovely. i'd make mine without the glitterstar and go more natural instead. but i really like the arrangement on the pic.

It's so sweet of you to share all your ideas. I have a very curious 1 year old, so to save ourselves the worry of him throwing himself head first in the tree we won't be putting up a real Christmas tree this year. I may try this tree and look forward to the rest of the countdown. I'm sure we can expect many more lovely ideas!

Opening your blog page each day is like having our very own advent calendar! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful ideas - I already fell for the rickrack Christmas tree card with a thin line of red thread down the middle, but this is so wonderful, too. I just worry about getting the "each one a little shorter than the other" part right. And are you sure there's no need for a wire going through the stack to hold it all together - like a piece of hanger or something?? I never have good luck with glue...
Thanks again!
