Im so happy to share this spooky halloween craft with you.
I created these scary portraits for Country Living's latest issue.
First make black and white copies of portraits.
To age the image, brush it with a sponge dipped in a little black paint mixed with water.
Cut a piece of card stock the same size as the photo and glue it to the photo's back.
Cut out the eyes using an x-acto knife.
Fit the portraits in vintage black frames.
Insert red mini LED christmas lights through the back of the eyeholes.
Secure with tape.
Turn on the lights and scare the family.

Ha! That's pretty creepy. What kind of paint did you use to age the photos? (I've never heard of that.) I love the way the photo is styled...

This one is nice but I have doubts if I am going to try this at home because I know for sure my 1 year old son will get afraid of it.

I'm not sure what is scarier - the glowing eyes or those BATHING SUITS, ha ha! Just kidding ~ Oh how I love the vignette - of course!

Yikes! These are super cool and too freaky for me to make, so I'll just look at your post. They remind me of old photos of relatives we had at my grandparents' house. As kids, we'd swear they would "watch" us as we'd walk by. This is a perfect post -- I'm so excited for Halloween!!!

These are so cute. I did some similar ones with googly eyes for HGTV last year, but these are way creepier and more fun! Think I will whip up a set of the fam for this years Halloween party.
