Its the party season and what do you do with that kid's table.
I used to hate kid's tables when I was a kid.
I wanted to be with the grown ups, I mean thats where the good conversations where and also the good food.
I always think you should serve the kids the same as you serve the adults.
Don't do the pizza and hot dog thing, give them real food.
Anyway, I came up with this kid's table for Country Living.
You just cover the surface with kraft paper and set out little pots of crayon to tic-tac-toe.
I stamped paper for place cards and used a marker to make place settings.
And the best thing is the cleanup after, just trow away the tablecloth.

I am a Private Trend consultant from the Middle East I live in the US and travel back and forth , we made a similar idea using tables with tops that are painted with blackboard paint and used chaulk instead of crayons. But I love your idea.

I did this for a women's event but I used lime green, orange and hot pink markers on white paper. The "placemats" were scalloped and the centerpieces were bright colors also. I loved it. I actually have a cartoon from a tablecloth that a friend drew of my dad when he was speaking in front of a class.

Love this idea, Paul, especially the marker place mats! And I'm on your exact same wavelength about giving kids 'real' food.

I see no reason for this to be just a kid's table idea - I'd love to be seated at this table! Great idea...anytime I can eat and draw dirty pictures at the same time, I am pleased.

I think this is fun for adults too! For a relaxed table dinner where I and the guests scrabble on the "paper cloth" during the evening - when we want to explain something, or write down a fun thing that someone says, or just draw.
