So many of you have emailed me asking where I got these straws.
The straws are vintage from the 40's and 50's.
You can find them online at ebay or at flea markets.
I see them all the time at flea markets.

I also spotted red stripy paper straws at the Jack + Lulu booth during the stationery show. They're starting to sell them now.

Such memories! I had a birthday cake, maybe around 1960 with those striped straws all around the edges of the round two layer cake holding up a paper circus tent with scalloped edges. My favorite childhood cake ever!

That shoot is my favorite. The straws are so fun. They would make strawberry milkshakes very special.
