My top 10 tips on setting the table!
1.Keep it simple!
2.Don't mix to many colors, 3 tops!
3.Keep the flowers simple, a bunch of one kind of flowers is so much better.
4. Candles, of course.
5.Cool music in the background
6.Something unexpected on the table, here I used some twigs of red peppers on every table
7.Fun people
8.Good food
9.Mix new and old, its just like fashion
10.Invite little old me!

Paul, are those hyacinths on the table? If yes, I find that an absolute no-go - except if you want your guests to leave very early. The intense odor of those flowers will overpower any culinary aroma and is known to cause headache. That's why hyacinths and lilies are generally considered a no-go on the table.
Personally, I can't have any fresh flowers on my table... the battle of aromas is far too confusing and distracts from the important things: the food and the persons sitting next and opposite to yourself. Same goes for candles by the way - they are supposed to be on a tall candelabra with the flames above the people's faces.
