I have a stack of doilies just like this that my grandmother and great grandmother made. I'd love to make them into something I could appreciate every day like this jacket or your beautiful doilie vase, but I'm not sure I can bear to bring them out of their tissue paper nest and tamper with them. This jacket would be a beautiful reminder of them and looks like the perfect, lightweight topper for a Florida girl like me.

Abbey

This jacket is so beautiful! I just got a job dealing with fashion and trends and desperately need new clothes to show off. When I would wear it to work I would tell my coworkers about the fabulous Paul Lowe and they could all ooh and aaawww over it! Plus, it would be a great reminder of working with you : )

Arlene McComas

I should win, because you made it and you love ME, and so you would want ME to have it. Right?

Emily

What a fabulous jacket. You should pick me because my motivation to sew has been less than nil lately (I'm super motivated all day at work and just want to get home and start sewing but as soon as I get home I flop on the couch and get nothing done...) I desperately need some inspiration...

Christina

I think its beautiful.

Kerry

Oh yes please, we are coming into Autumn here and I would love this to remind me of the Summer just ending....

janet clare

I would LOVE to wear that wonderful jacket to the opening of my show in August (I am a patchwork designer and just about to launch myself!).
I have red hair and feel I would look very fetching in such a thing!! (no room for modesty here!)
You have a lovely blog.

this beautiful jacket would fit just nicely on one of my walls...i see it right next to my 'doilified' linen curtains that hang at the window of mossy shed. then again i might have to hide it away and keep it to myself for fear others will pass by and insist on 'borrowing' it...and for 'others' read 'teenage daughters' ;)

i'm a fan of a doily or two, they appear on most of my work...my friend janet clare sent me over here to take a look, very beautiful indeed...

Christine

I love what you do with doilies! The jacket is beautiful. I need it for my wardrobe as it is sadly doily free at the moment and very much in need of some :)

sweet pul

Thanks for all your great comments so far guys.
I wish I could give you one jacket each, but I only have one.
Good luck to all and have a great weekend.

I'll write this in Norwegian: Fordi jeg aldri har eid et spesielt plagg eller designet plagg. Og så synes jeg det var en utrolig nydelig jakke :)
og jeg har snart bursdag ;) (palmesøndag)

god helg :)

I'd like to see her hop, skip & jump round blog land, visiting lots of people, being photographed in lots of ways. Spreading the doily love...

I don´t write english so well, but I love your style. I think there is something very beautiful in the world, and this jacket belongs to the beautiful world. I would hang it in my bedroom, then I can start my day with a smile.

The jacket you've made is beautifully delicate and feminine. A great piece to dress up or down and perfect for a Friday night gallery hop. I've been inspired by doilies since I saw the vase you make a couple of months ago in one of your earlier post. I've been incorporating the impression of doilies into my ceramic pieces ever since. Everything from plates, bowls, or broaches. It's really a lovely effect! I suggest that we swap pieces...what do you say?!

For me, this jacket represents Spring and my up and coming move to Atlanta. What I look forward to, more than my new job is the Saturday mornings with grass wet with humid dew and the trek I plan to make to the bountiful organic farmer's markets. Spring time is like a rebirth to me and nothing in life pleases me more than the fruits of labor of farmer's and the endless beauty of the stands and their cornucopias of treats.

I imagine these soft mornings at the markets in paper thin khakis, a comfy tank top and a lightweight jacket, like this one to scare off the morning chill. Comfort is key and nothing is more delightful than dainty and soft, especially on a Saturday morning.

ok, right, i'll tell you exactly why this litle beauty should wing it's delicate little loveliness from new york to the middle of a cultural wasteland that is my hometown in the uk...i'm a goddamn farmer's wife who is surrounded by people who think wax jackets and green wellies are a good look...save me from this torment and let me have something beautiful to look at and wear...pretty pur-lease???! i'm not too ashamed to beg, ok, but it won't be pretty ;)

I just like your page. Trying to cut down on all things sweet, your blog is nowadays my favorite praline. However, I do not need to win, since my cut-down hasn't brought me down to a size S/M. Yet.
Lots of love, keep up this lovely work.

diana

It's not a piece of clothing - it's a work of art! - (it's also my size though!). I treasure anything handmade and I would display it on my antique coat hanger in my bedroom. Lovely work Paul and I can't wait to see it in the magazine.

Au

The way you've married doilies and fabric in this garment is exquisite.

Since the doilies and I date from roughly the same period, I believe that their and my faded grandeur would complement each other to the greater glory of both.

I suspect that you lead a happy life indeed, with so many venues for your talent. My sense of this is what keeps me coming back to your blog. May you carry on in good luck and good health.

This jacket is to die for
I will die... one day
So this jacket must live ... with me

The lovely little jacket would pick me because it would feel right at home at my house. You see the little arched building in your picture has a bigger version sitting in front of the window in my dining room. How perfect is that...oh, and the jacket is my size and I love vintage looking clothing.
You can see it's big sister here

Hey! The message I posted is attributed to Diana here--I guess hers is attributed to me? NOT! (Unless, of course, her comment wins, in which case I'll keep it. . . .)

Au

OK, this is getting nuts. This is AU. My corrective comment about whose comment is whose is now attributed to Lori. Unless I'm looking at the format wrong? Am I so old I've gone senile?

Au

Yes, senile. Very sad. I get it now.
